Carla Meskill is Professor, Department of Educational Theory and Practice at the University at Albany, State University of New York. Her research and teaching explore new forms of technology use in language education as well as the influences of new technologies on developing language and literacy practices. In tandem, her work explores the nature of electronic literacy and its centrality in teacher professional development. On these and related topics she has published widely. Dr. Meskill is the former director of the federally funded Technology Assisted Language Learning project, Training all Teachers project, the Language Advocacy Project and co-editor of (MERLOT). She currently serves as associate editor of Language Learning Technology.

Dafne González has been an EFL/ESP teacher for more than 30 years. She graduated in Language Teaching, has a Masters degree in Applied Linguistcs, and a Ph.D in Education. She has coordinated the Graduate Studies in Education Programs and she has been the Head of the Specialization in Informatics and Education at Universidad Simón Bolívar, in Caracas, Venezuela. Besides teaching technology-related courses at the graduate level, she has also taughtEnglish for Architecture and Urban Planning blended and online courses. A webhead since 2002, she has been the lead coordinator of the TESOL Electronic Village Online (EVO) since 2006, and co-moderator of the EVO Becoming a Webhead (BaW) online Workshop since 2004. She has also been teaching the course "Teaching Vocabulary and Grammar Online" for the TESOL Principles and Practices of Online Teaching Certificate Program since 2004. Currently, she is the head of the Spanish Program for Languagelife (a project of Languagelab.com) in Second Life.

 

David Nunan is Emeritus Professor of Applied Linguistics at the University of Hong Kong and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Anaheim University. He also holds honorary professorships at the University of Stockholm and the University of NSW in Sydney.

 

Aiden Yeh is a Phd student at the University of Birmingham in England. She holds a master’s in English language teaching management from Surrey University. She has published journal articles and book chapters on the following topics: NNESTs' Teacher Professional Development using online technology, blended learning, and web 2.0 tools in teaching and learning EFL. She serves as the NNEST-IS List-serv Manager, and she is a member of the Electronic Village Online Coordinating Team, CALL-IS Steering Committee, and the TESOL Technology Advisory Committee. She teaches in Taiwan.

 

Jeff Magoto is the director of the Yamada Language Center and the World Languages Academy at the University of Oregon (a place where the CALL waters flow mightily). He's been involved in CALL since his days as a grad student at Ohio University in the mid 80's and has been doing CALL teacher training since the mid 90's. His most recent work has focused on ANVILL, a speech-based course management system for language teachers.
